Another calendar year has gone by from the life of e-activism in Bangladesh. However, the difference from other years and 2009 is the Digital Bangladesh program of the current government. Bangladesh to amend law to fight against cyber crimes

[South Asian News] Bangladesh is planning stringent measures to fight cyber crimes amid the rapid expansion of information and communication technology and telecommunications networks in the impoverished South Asian country, an official said Monday.

‘We have taken steps afresh to facilitate fair and secured use of the information technology as the country lacks a complete law to deal with cyber crimes,’ MM Neazuddin, a joint secretary to the science and ICT ministry, told the German Press Agency dpa. Read the rest of this entry »

Development of the ICT sector in Bangladesh and Vision 2021 Digital Bangladesh

Chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Brig Gen (retd) Zia Ahmed on Wednesday said the government is determined to reach the ICT facilities to the doorsteps of the people to build a ‘Digital Bangladesh’.

“To achieve the goal, optimum use of information and communication technology(ICT) facilities such as internet connectivity, fibre optics, WiMax and 3G will have to be ensured for the people,” he told a press conference here.

Building digital Bangladesh – Online textbooks and education

Every year we face a textbook crisis. Students do not get new books on time due to an artificial crisis. I would put forward a suggestion which may solve the problem. Introducing online version of books alongside the traditional textbooks can be a good idea. Internet is now a very powerful means of communication.
